Authors
Two people stand behind what is published here. One researches and writes every guide. The other keeps the site honest about what it does and does not know, and does not put her name on the byline.

Jessica Martinez
Contributing Writer, Repair Cost Research. Jessica researches and writes the guides on this site, what a converter costs by part and vehicle type, how labor time varies by shop, and where CARB emissions rules change the picture. She works from parts pricing databases, published labor guides, and exhaust specialist surveys rather than her own repair experience, and she is not a certified mechanic. When a question needs a hands on diagnosis, her guides say so plainly and point readers to a shop instead of guessing. She covers repair and part replacement costs for several cost guide sites in the same network.
Chris Terry
Founder and Editor. Chris set up Catalytic Converter Replacement Cost and checks every guide against the sourcing rules on our editorial standards page. He is not a mechanic and does not write the guides himself, that is Jessica's work. His role is oversight: keeping the calculator's assumptions defensible and handling any reader correction that goes beyond a quick fact check.
Why one byline covers everything
Every cost guide on this site carries Jessica's name because she is the one who researched and wrote it. We do not publish under a house name, and we do not invent a review board to sound bigger than we are. If a second writer ever contributes here, their name will go on what they actually wrote.
